Favorite Movies

I am thinking about my favorite movies this morning and I have gathered some information on a few of them. Something about chilly days and long nights that makes me think about a good movie and a large bowl of popcorn. When the days are longer, a good book sounds great as well. These days as the winter sets in, I am leaning more and more toward big pillows, throws and an evening of movies with a friend.

One of my all time favorite movies is this one:

Today I found this one on DVD.

Creator
One of my favorite aspects of this movie is the music. A very beautiful instrumental. I have been unable to find the soundtrack information but, I will add that here when I receive the DVD (if it is available on the packaging).

Mariel Hemingway,Virginia Madsen, Vincent Spano co-star with Peter O'Toole along with many other supporting roles played by Ellen Geer, Karen Kopins, Rance Howard and Elsa Raven.

More information about Peter O'Toole can be found at:

Another favorite of mine is Made In Heaven with Timothy Hutton, Kelly McGillis & Mare Winningham (to name only a few).

I was able to find it on DVD however it is a bit expensive for an older movie. I'll wait for more options to aquire this one.

A List of 80's great romantic movies (both comedy and drama) wouldn't be complete without mentioning
"An Officer and a Gentlemen" Richard Gere
"The Heavenly Kid" Lewis Smith
"Mystic Pizza" Annabeth Gish, Julia Roberts
And, not to leave out the aventure movies like "Indiana Jones" which were very entertaining... or the "Back to the Future" trilogy. How about "The Goonies" ? That was a fun movie and I loved the music.
I could go on and on about the 80's movies... The Princess Bride, Willow and so many more.
"Mrs Winterborne" ~ Shirley MacLaine, Ricki Lake, Brendan Fraser...

Some of my other favorite movies are more on the Classic side.
"Miracle on 34th Street" Mareen O'Hara, John Payne, Edmund Gwenn and Gene Lockhart.

"Much ado about Nothing" and so many more...
I did continue to watch movies after the 80's. LOL There was a large block of time that I didn't see anything new for awhile. Some of my new found movie favorites are
"Serenity", "Babylon5" (the movies and the series), "Stargate Atlanis" (and any of the Stargate movies and series). Now I am going more toward my Science Fiction favorites so I will save some of those for a future list.
I enjoy a romantic comedy...or a good science fiction movie.
What are your favoite movies (past, present, any genre favorites?)

Please post a comment and share your favorites.

INJOY,
